Saturday, December 16th will be a big day for Santa on Barracks Row! Barracks Row Main Street will have holiday festivities all day long for the whole family. It is a free event, but everyone should know that Santa is collecting new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots.

Start early with the Pajama Movie, Polar Express at 11 a.m. at Miracle Theater. When that’s over, just cross the street and visit Santa — in your pajamas!

This year Santa will be stopping by Taoti Creative (530 Eighth St SE) between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, December 16.  There will be letter-writing stations for everyone with crayons and pencils, paper and envelopes.  You can mail your Santa letters at Santa’s Mail Box or bring your letters right in to Santa and tell him what you wrote!

If you’re not quite into writing yet bring a picture and show Santa. He’ll understand!

Hosted by Barracks Row Main Street, Santa has made listening trips to Capitol Hill for over a decade. He wants to make sure he hears from every boy and girl in the neighborhood way before Christmas, so he can be sure to deliver the perfect gift to everyone.

There will be caroling along Barracks Row all afternoon by Capitol Hill Chorale.

Visit Patricia, the Barracks Row Face Painter from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Patricia was a popular attraction at the Fall Festival, and she’s back for the holiday festivities. Tell her who you want to be, and she’ll transform you!

Kids and parents can enjoy snacks provided by Ted’s Bulletin. Ted’s is also adding to the collection of holiday inflatables. They will be bringing a 6-foot-tall Teddy Bear named Ted to join the happy penguin who was introduced last year.

The Barrack’s Row Polar Express toy train will be chugging around the stacks of gifts brought for underprivileged kids. Come on down to Eighth Street and join the fun!
