Arrest in Northeast Assault with Gun

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Fifth District announced Thursday an arrest has been made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that happened Tuesday, March 20 on the 1800 block of M Street NE.

At around 12:25 p.m., the victims and the suspect got in an argument at that address.  During the altercation, the suspect pulled a handgun and threatened the victims.  The suspect then fled the scene.

On Thursday, March 29 and 18-year-old Southwest man was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

At 3:59 a.m. Thursday, two men were arrested on the 200 block of K Street NE on charges of Simple Assault.

At 9:42 a.m. Thursday, a man was arrested on the corner of 21st 7 C Streets NE on charges of Speeding and Reckless Driving.

At 12:50 p.m. Thursday, a man was arrested on the 100 block of Oklahoma Avenue SE on charges of Speeding and Reckless Driving.

Reporting Illegal Activity

Prompt and detailed reporting of suspicious activities helps prevent crime. If a citizen sees suspicious activity, or any activity that seems out of the ordinary, immediately call 911.

When reporting suspicious activity, give an accurate description. Here are some things to include:

  • Brief description of the activity;
  • Date, time and location of the activity;
  • Physical identifiers of anyone you observed;
  • Descriptions of vehicles;
  • Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone;
  • Your name and contact information.
