A public elementary school in Southwest, Amidon-Bowen Elementary (401 I St SW) is on the upswing and needs the community’s help to maintain its momentum. While the school has made progress in recent years, it requires significant support as it continues to raise student achievement and provide a well-rounded education to the children of Southwest DC.
As a Title 1 school, Amidon-Bowen serves a diverse student population, including many economically disadvantaged students. The school says that budgets have not kept up with increasing costs and the needs of the student population.
By being part of the inaugural Southwest Soiree, you will help bring needed resources to Amidon-Bowen Elementary. Amidon-Bowen welcomes opportunities to strengthen ties between our local community and the school. To donate or buy tickets, visit www.amidonbowen.org.
