The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian has opened a new exhibition, “Trail of Tears: A Story of Cherokee Removal,” curated by the Cherokee Nation. Through reproductions of historical documents, drawings and portraiture, first-hand accounts and contemporary voices, this powerful 40-panel exhibition takes a deeper look at Indian removal from the Cherokee perspective.
