The first Citi Taste of Tennis to ever take place in DC happens June 30th of this year at the Hamilton Live (600 14 St NW), and you’re invited!
The event is the official player party that kicks of the Citi Open Tennis tournament, and also takes place in Miami and New York. It pairs fine cuisine made by notable local chefs with appearances by tennis stars participating in the tournament, and a party amped up by attending fans.

Special guest players on the list include Chung Hyeon, the 22-year-old South Korean Next Gen Finals Champion and the first South Korean player to make it to a Grand Slam semifinal when he played in the 2018 Australian Open. Hyeon will be joined at the event by John Isner, who beat him at the Indian Wells Masters. The 33-year old American is ranked 18th in Men’s Singles by the ATP and is known for playing the longest tennis match in history, versus Nicolas Mahut in the 2010 Wimbledon Championships. Isner won.
This year’s participating chefs include Chef Edward Lee, who is Culinary Director for Succotash in National Harbor and in Penn Quarter and a nominee in multiple years for the James Beard Foundation Awards honoring regional best chefs.
Chef Ron Duprat will also be creating culinary magic. Best know as a competitor on television’s Top Chef and Bar Rescue, Duprat was named one of the 10 Black Chefs that Are Changing the Food World and has cooked for President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama and Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
