The Metropolitan Police Department announced Saturday afternoon that they were investigating a shooting on the 900 block of I Street SE. The intersection of Fourth and I Streets SE was closed pending the investigation.
Police responded to calls about an unconscious male in the vicinity shortly after 4 p.m. Oct. 20.
Officers said it appeared that an adult male was shot inside a building in the 900 block of Fifth Street SE. The victim ran from the location and collapsed in the 400 block of I Street SE.
He was pronounced dead on the scene. Homicide detectives are still in the area investigating and say they will provide updates as information warrants.
