Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday, December 1, 2016, in the 1800 block of Capitol Avenue NE.
At approximately 7:27 p.m. on that day more than two years ago, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located two adult males suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital.
One victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. The other victim, 45-year-old Timothy Pretlow of Southeast, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at hospital.
On Sunday, December 16, 2018, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) arrested a 45-year-old man from Laurel, MD. He is charged with First Degree Murder while Armed and Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun).
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
