Chasing Life

Poem 7

1160

The kingdom of love

is hope,

Not promises made—

words said and heard—

But promises imagined

and believed.

The spirit shrinks

because of yesterday,

But trembles and soars

for tomorrow.

Regret is waste

of spirit

While hope ignites the fiery

passions of the heart.

Tomorrow holds all that

there is to want

While yesterdays are lost

and crying for revenge.

Gaze deeply

into the eye of life…

Then chase whatever’s

there to see.
